The 2nd Annual SOI 8-way Speed Competition will be held again this year at the Orange Boogie Saturday, August 15, 2009.

So get your team together, if you are interested in participating and/or being a team Captain let me know. Otherwise just show up and we'll put together some pickup teams the day of.

Winning team gets their picture put on the badass trophy that sits at manifest
and 364 days of bragging rights.

Here are the rules for those who didn't pay attention the first time:

1. one round, saturday only
2. team consists of 8 members
3. only one team member outside aircraft
4. no grips may be taken until this person has left the airframe.
5. time starts when first person leaves the airframe
6. time stops when 8th person has grips
7. in order for the time to count the completed 8-way star must be
held for two seconds.
8. judged by outside video

Your team may make their jump at any point during the day, if you
are enjoying it so much that you want to do more than one, that's
fine, the whole point is to have fun, just turn in your best jump
for judging.

After sunset we'll gather round the big screen and judge the videeos

The winning team gets their snapshot placed on a cool trophy to be
proudly displayed at manifest.

So far I only know of two teams planning to participate, although there should be plenty of bodies around for pickup teams. If you are interested in being a team captain for one of these pickup teams let me know so I can steer people in your direction on Saturday.
