Used to be you needed to go through a
BIC (Basic Instructor's Course) before you could
get any other instructional ratings, like Static Line or AFF jumpmaster
or even get your tandem rating. Now they did away with this, and
replaced it with the USPA
Coaches' Course instead.
Confused about coaching and coaches? click here
for some more details, where I attempt to help sort it out...
Attending the USPA Basic Instructor Course (BIC) is the
first step in getting any skydiving ratings, such as AFF, Static Line, and Tandem
Jumpmaster or Instructor. So if you have any interest in getting any
of these ratings, I suggest you take the opportunity to attend this
BIC. Instructing and jump mastering is an excellent way to make a serious
contribution and help the sport of skydiving grow.
The Jan 2001 BIC at Skydive
Orange was a great success! If you are interested in attending our next
BIC, drop us an email so we can see how many are interested. We usually
hold a BIC or two in the winter months.
