FIRST JUMPS and Student Skydiver training occur as usual during all these events. The following events are for experienced and licensed skydivers. If you are interested in making your first jump or would like information on learning to skydive, click here.  We almost always do student skydiver training jumps regardless of these events - but reservations are always strongly encouraged. MAY 2008:    2 - 4    AFF Rating Precourse 5 - 11   AFF Instructor Rating Course: (for Coaches who want to become AFF instructors) 9-11     Canopy Skills Camp Brian McNenny and Scott Roberts from Team Fasttrax Swoop will be out to conduct canopy skills courses.  Basic and advanced instruction available.  Prices will be determined by the number of participants.  3 courses will be offered...one each on Friday, Saturday & Sunday.  Class size will be limited, especially on Friday, so please let me know if you are interested, see fastrax-canopy-courses.htm 17-18   Free Freefly Coaching   24      4-Way RW Scrambles Click for Planned $20 Weekday jumps!

JUNE 2008:   These events usually have no effect on Tandem and student jump schedules. 6-8     Amy Chmelecki comes to Skydive Orange for three days of freefly organizing and coaching.  VA state vertical record to be attempted.  Luau pig roast Saturday night.  FFI:  Rhonda Kaletz                 13-15    PD Factory World Tour.  Isaiah & Nick from Performance Designs Inc. will be stopping by for the weekend.  They will have all sorts of canopies for demo. Stop by the tent and chat with the experts. Cook out Saturday night. AUGUST 2008:                        These events usually have no effect on Tandem and student jump schedules. 15-17    The FABIO Boogie!!!  Our largest event of the season.  come jump the fastest climbing jump plane in the country, Mike Mullins Super King Air in addition to our Beloved Super Otter, of course! Freefly organizing by Orange's own Josh "Dog" Mitchell and RW (formation skydiving) organizing by Orange's own Tim Tharpe. Alternate aircraft. Entertainment. Raffles. MARCH 2009:

14   USPA Safety Day at Skydive Orange Skydiving Safety seminars, safety drills, door prizes. Open to Anyone - FFI Kane Crisler - Cut away harness practice, various safety seminars and gear checks - was attended by over 76 skydivers despite clouds all day long.

 

  21 - 22 Skydive Orange Inc. Member Appreciation Weekend - Current SOI Members - Discounted jumps for current members, group dinner and theme party. FFI - Chris Santiago 

APRIL 2009:

24-26   USPA Coach Rating Course (for licensed skydivers who want to be coaches)

1 Sunday - Daylight Savings time ends or starts. We gotta move our clocks ahead, or back or something. And our weekend opening time will have to change in order to compensate for a while, we'll either open an hour earlier, or an hour later... Check back for details after Uncle Ned figgers out which way we need to change our AFF arrival and experienced manifest opening times...
