For those of you who are seriously interested in attending, I need to know in the way of a deposit to insure an adequate number of evaluators and proper aircraft support.  Slots will be accepted based on the order the deposits are received until the course is filled.

Requirements:

USPA “B” License or F.A.I Equivalent

Documented proof of 100 jumps

Current USPA membership

Present a completed Coach Rating Exam at check-in (located in the back of the IRM…please use the answer sheet provided in the IRM)

Assisted with one complete First Jump Course

Costs:

$350 (payable to me) plus aircraft slots (payable to the DZ, your slots and the evaluators) plus any video costs (your choice) and USPA fees.

$50 deposit payable to me to register.  The balance will be due at the start of the course.  Please include your name, address, telephone number(s) and e-mail address with the deposit.

Steve Hetrick

110 Kinross Dr

Winchester VA  22602

Other Stuff:

You will need the current additions of USPA’s Skydivers Information Manual and Instructor Rating Manual to attend the course (available from USPA.)  I require every candidate to study all material concerning USPA’s ISP program in the SIM and the entire Coach section in the IRM prior to the course.  The more familiar everyone is with the material, the more quickly the lectures and demos will go.

I encourage all of you to get to work on the pre-course requirements now, and hone your belly flying skills!

AFF Instructor Rating Course
For those of you who may be interested, these are the requirements to attend the course and what to be prepared for:

- Be a current USPA member
- Hold a current USPA Coach Rating or any other USPA Instructional Rating (must have held a Coach Rating for one year or have 500+ jumps.)
- Have a USPA "C" License or the F.A.I. equivalent.
- Have a minimum of six hours documented freefall time.
- Have completed all prior course requirements on the USPA AFF Proficiency Card.
- Present the written exam ready for grading at check-in (General USPA Instructor and AFF Instructor exams in the IRM).  Please use the answer sheet in the IRM.
- Be completely familiar with the "Integrated Student Program" as described in the "Skydivers Information Manual" and the AFF stuff in the "Instructional Rating Manual," available from USPA (required books for the course, current editions please).

Costs:
$700 payable to me, plus USPA fees, jumps (yours and your evaluators), and any video costs.  It would be prudent to budget approximately $1200 and ten days (including the precourse) of your time to complete the course (I tend to estimate on the high side).

- Pre-register with me well in advance ($200.00 nonrefundable deposit required payable to me, cash or check).  The balance of $500 is due at the start of the course).  That may sound harsh, but I do need to know far enough in advance how many qualified evaluators I will need and what aircraft and facilities will be required to support the course.  Please include all contact information (phone numbers(s) and e-mail address) with the deposit.

- Be prepared to be evaluated on your ground and in-air instructional and flying skills for "ISP" Categories "C1" and "D2" (similar to the former AFF Level III and Level V).

A pre-course focusing on AFF air skills will be offered May 4 - 6 prior to the AFFIRC focusing on air skills. Contact me directly if you are interested.  Precourse costs are in addition to the AFFIRC costs.  Attending the precourse is highly recommended.
