If you are actively in a program of student skydiving instruction at another skydiving center, we would love to have you continue training with us. Transferring to Skydive Orange should be easy. If you have been trained along the lines of what we are doing at Skydive Orange- almost all skydiving schools use similar basic training- and are actively training to get your license, we can usually fit you right into our training progression. If you only have a few AFF jumps and have jumped within the last 30 days, it should only require a little extra ground training as long as you bring your logbook, yellow card if you have one, and USPA membership card if you have already joined. However, we sometimes have low time skydivers turn up without clear documentation of their skydiving training. So please keep this in mind-
Despite being USPA member skydiving centers, lots of skydiving schools out
there use various training programs, so it might require a little extra going
over to make sure nothing is overlooked. There are also
different kinds of equipment being used at different skydiving centers, and we
need to make sure there is no confusion caused by the transition. Each
skydiving center has it's own culture.
If you are going through the training program and are beyond Category D, or
about Level 4 using the old AFF program, we
need to make sure you know what you need to in order to be safe and to
get the most out of additional training skydives. This requires lots of
effort on the part of our instructors, and it always seems like walk-ons like
to turn up unannounced on a
nice blue sky day. So we will charge a $75 orientation fee. If in the course
of instruction, we feel that you are knowledgeable and ISP
(or equivalent) -trained, then we will consider a partial rebate
depending on how much time and effort the instructor spends with you.
Needless to say, we need you to bring the appropriate documentation with you.
If you come here without the basic items of skydiving- logbook, USPA card and
license- we will make a reasonable effort to help you get in the air,
but remember that as in all things, a lack of planning on your part does not
constitute an emergency on our part, especially if it requires burning
daylight on the ground on a nice sunny skydiving day! We will give priority to those who come properly equipped to
skydive.
