For licensed skydivers who want to compete in relative work (belly flying) with randomly drawn teams with mixed experience- Yes,
boys and girls, in two weeks it will be scrambles time again! Saturday,
May 24th! Let the carnage begin! What
is scrambles? Well, newb, I’m glad you asked because this is for you
(and you 100 jump wonders and you 500 jump wonders and you skygods who have
stopped logging because no one can count that high). Scrambles is an event
in which we take jumpers of widely varying experience levels, assign them to
four-way teams together and hold a competition. The idea is that everyone
gets a chance to play together, learn a bit about 4-way competition and have a
stupid amount of fun. There
is no cost to participants other than ¼ of each videographers slot. So
it’ll be your slot + $23 for 4 rounds, unless we raise the price of slots to
$24 or $25 at the next BOD meeting, which we may do because we’re the board
dammit and we hate you and want you to suffer (heat up sharp sticks. poke.
poke.). Which
reminds me: we need videographers for scrambles. Your slot will be
paid for. If you are trying to learn to shoot video and have a reasonably
good chance of actually getting everyone in frame, please sign up, it’s a
great learning experience. Or if you are already actually good at video
and want to help, that is great, too. Better, even. Please
e-mail us in the next few days if you are planning on participating in scrambles
this year.
We need folks from 25 jumps to 5,000+ jumps to participate and make it as fun as
last year’s event. In your e-mail let me know, roughly, how many jumps
you have. Also, let me know if you can help video. |
