B License Water Training

Friday, January 18, 2007 7:00 PM

Wilderness Presidential Estates

9220 Plank RD (Route 3)

Spotsylvania VA   22553

$20 cash payable to me

You need not have an “A” License to attend.  This training is open to everyone, including students.

You must register with me in advance no later than January 16.  I need to submit a list of names to the facility in advance.  If you are not on that list, security will not allow you to enter the resort.

You must bring a copy of your current USPA membership card to give to the resort (yes…that means you have to join USPA…do it now so you have a card by the January 18th}.  Bring a picture ID as well.  It’s an insurance thing.

You will be required to sign a release on site for the resort

Bring your bathing suit, a towel, logbook and frosty beverage money.  You must be on-time.  There are changing rooms and the like in the pool building.

Directions from Skydive Orange Inc:

Route 20 east to Route 3

Turn right

Wilderness Presidential Resort is four miles on the right

Stop at the guard house.  They will direct you to the pool.

It’s about a 25 minute drive from the DZ.

Once we are assembled, there will be a 20 minute briefing and then we get wet.  Be prepared to have a great time!

In order to get a "B" Skydiving License (not to be confused with category B in the ISP training program), you need to go through water training. The idea is to practice getting out of your gear in case you have an emergency water landing. This is not required to get an "A" License, but if you intend to go very far in the sport, it is a good idea to take this opportunity. The biggest motivation for most skydivers to get a "B" license is that it is required for night jumps.

Check back for other planned live water training times and places.

Please be punctual for the pre-training lecture -- if you do not attend ALL of the lecture, you may not participate in the event! I strongly suggest that ALL students and A-license holders that are seriously into the sport look at participating in this event -- it doesn't happen very often!

What: Water training

Why? B-license requirement and important stuff you should know! Like in case you want to do a NIGHT JUMP!

When: To be announced, but if you are interested, email Ned with "WATER TRAINING" in the subject line.

What to bring: towel, extra change of clothing old tennis shoes (or old shoes you don't mind getting wet), log book to verify event.  Optional items -- gloves and goggles that you regularly wear.
